Sis. Peggy Jane Wright was born to the late Elliott Wright, Sr., and the late Thelma Russell Wright on December 25, 1959, in Hampton County, South Carolina. She departed this life on Monday, October 11, 2021 at Hampton Regional Medical Center of Hampton, South Carolina.
Sister Peggy Gordon attended Hampton County District 2 Public Schools. She was a 1978 graduate of Estill High School. She worked for over 15 years at Nevamar Company of Hampton, South Carolina as a manufacturer laborer until the closings of the plant. She later retired and became a fulltime grandmother; spending most of her time with her grandchildren. She loved cooking for others, listening to gospel music, and socializing with her beautiful smile that would brighten up the whole room. Boo as she was known to many was no stranger and would talk to anyone that would listen. She would find peace in just going out to eat and fellowshipping at church with any event that was going on. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a member of Efferson Missionary Baptist church for many years; before her sickness, she attended Cornerstone Christian Fellowship.
Peggy Wright Gordon was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Deacon John L. Gordon, Jr. in 1981. To this union three children were born. She was preceded in death by both of her parents and two grandchildren, Jacoby Ta’Shaun and Symere Ty’Shon Hill.
