Phoebe Maxwell Obituary

And God will wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow nor crying.  Neither shall there be any more pain.  For the former things are passed away.               Revelation: 21:4

Today, we find peace and understanding because we realize that God is close to the brokenhearted and he comforts those whose spirits are crushed but, we find comfort in knowing that a loving God knows best.

Mrs. Phoebe Ann Maxwell was born on April 17, 1937 to the late Helen Kendrick and the late Rueben Spann in Estill, South Carolina. She surrendered to the calling of the Lord on September 27, 2020, Aiken Regional Hospital, Aiken, South Carolina.

Phoebe received her formal education in the public-school system of Hampton District 2.  At an early age, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and joined Sweetrose Baptist Church. Searching for better opportunities; Phoebe relocated to Queens, New York and remained there, until she relocated back to South Carolina in her latter years. In her leisure time, she enjoyed bowling, sports, softball, and basketball.

Phoebe was united in holy matrimony to the late Sam Maxwell. This union was blessed with two beautiful children.

She leaves to cherish her memories: son, Dwayne Maxwell, Graniteville, South Carolina; daughter, Lisa C. Maxwell, Queens, NY; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; brothers, Freddie (Isolar) Spann, Estill, SC and Curtis Spann, Savannah, GA; a host of other relatives and friends.
