Rashad Maurice Green

When you hear about my homegoing don’t worry about me. My life was brief, but I lived a spontaneous life with lots of laughter and fun. My only regret about my early departure is leaving the best thing that has ever happened to me, my children. Please take care of my beautiful, innocent children which was my blessing from God. Don’t question God and ask why! Accept His will because this place was never meant to be our permanent home. God lent me to my parents, Ronald and Katrina Green, on June 10, 1997, in Brunswick, Georgia, just for a little while so they could nurture and love me, until He sent the angels to bring me home.

Rashad Maurice Green received his formal education in the Glynn County school system in Brunswick, Georgia. He had an extraordinary passion for cooking. He was a cook on St. Simons Island, Georgia, for the Southern Soul Restaurant. While cooking was his passion, carpentry was his background from a toddler. He became a carpenter working for his Uncle Tommie L. Holloway, III, at Holloway’s Construction. He also accepted Christ at an early age and was united with Zion Rock Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a youth choir member. Rashad lived life with passion by embracing music and dance. He loved spending time with his children, family, and friends. A devoted father, he took pride in creating memories with his children. Through MBK (My Brother’s Keeper) he left a lasting mark on the community, inspiring all who knew him.

Rashad Maurice Green departed this life on March 22, 2025. He now joins those loved ones who preceded him in death: grandparents, Lizzie and Joe Daniels and Tommie Holloway, Sr., David “Tickle” Palmer, and Tiney Green, Sr., and godmother, Mary Lee.

He leaves behind a large and loving family to cherish his memories: his loving parents, Katrina and Ronald Green; a bonus mom, Catorsia Rogers; godparents, Andrey Bennett, and Vernon and Jennifer Jackson; his union with Kiyonna Smith blessed him with two sons, Rashad Green, Jr., and Kahizer Green; siblings, Ronald Green, Jr., Antonio Green, Shakayla Francois, Ronisha Green, Rontrae Green, Rashaun Green, Rashauna Green, Ronie Spencer, and Chamari Cummins; beloved grandparents, Mary and Tommie Holloway, Jr., Betty Palmer, Janie Holloway and Kathryn (Luther) King; aunts and uncles, Shelia Daniels (favorite aunt), Lacielle (Byron) Brown, Tommie (Keisha) Holloway III, Zalika Howard, Tiney Green, Antonio Green, Stacey Green, Stephanie Green, and Michael Green; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as girlfriend, DeAsia Moore, and friends.
