Robert Lee Mickle

A page has been turned; the chapter of my life is now completed. As you celebrate the final chapter of my life, please remember the battle I fought to remain on earth with each of you. A victory has been won, a life’s book closed, and it was all part of God’s plans for me. Family and friends; although, you are hurting and don’t understand God’s decision, please accept the will of God, because a loving and awesome God doesn’t make mistakes. I want each of my family members and friends to begin your journey of healing by remembering the joy that we shared through pictures and favorite stories, both funny and sad. Don’t worry about me, I have gone on to be with other loved ones that have gone before me. We have lots of sorrow, but not as those who have no hope. We are sorrowful because we shall miss his kind smile and jokes.

Everything that comes from God is pure and blessed. On August 17, 1952, in Furman, South Carolina, God blessed the late Hubert Mickle and Willie Mae Gant Mickle with another bundle of joy that they named Robert Lee. Robert received his formal education in the Hampton County school system and attended Estill High School. As a family, God was the foundation of our raising. Robert grew up attending Furman Holiness Church. In his leisure time, Robert enjoyed socializing with his family and friends and watching westerns on TV. Family and showing them, love was very important to Robert

. No man knows the time or day when their earthly days are over. Robert Lee departed this life on October 13, 2024. He was preceded in death by his father, Hubert; brothers, Willie and Jerry Mickle; and a granddaughter.

Robert leaves to cherish his memories and to carry on his legacy: his mother, Willie Mae Mickle; sister, Doris E. (Thomas) Jones; sons, Ricky L. Griffin, Pastor Marcell (Adrian) Smith, and Darrell Mickle; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins
