Rory Wilson Obituary

Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. Ecclesiastes 12:7

In life, a person must travel many paths. These paths are designed to teach many valuable lessons and to prepare us for our final resting place. Rory has come to the end of his journey,
never to tread through this life here on earth again, and the only thing that he took on this journey was the love he had in his heart for each of you.

The path of life for Rory LaShaun Wilson began on October 14, 1976, Brunswick, Georgia, when God blessed Henry Wilson and Phyllis Carter Wilson with an intelligent and creative son. He received his formal education in the Glynn County public school system and was a graduating member of Glynn Academy High School class of 1995, Brunswick, GA. After graduation, Rory enlisted into the United States Navy on June 19, 1995. He was honorably discharged in 1998. Rory Wilson accepted Christ as his Savior in his early 30’s and was united with First African Baptist Church on St. Simons Island, Georgia. In his leisure, he enjoyed chess, playing the piano, appreciating martial arts and enjoying nature. He was employed by Lockheed Martin as an engineer.

Rory LaShaun Wilson departed this life on December 21, 2024. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Pecolia Baisden; grandparents, Leo and Nellie Carter, Ralph and Helen Carter; uncles, James Wilson, Sevron Wilson, Donald Carter, Victor Carter, Daniel Carter and granddaughter, Giselle Deborah Lee Jones.

He leaves to cherish his memories: daughter, Jazzmine Wilson; parents, Henry Wilson and Phyllis Carter Wilson; sisters, Marci Wilson and Katherine Wilson; nieces, Sha ‘Rae Wilson and Sha ‘Dae Wilson; nephew, Delon Spencer; uncle, Quamaine Baisden; aunts, Shaquita Baisden, Patricia Johnson, Cynthia Brown, Mary (Jake) Hughes, Barbara (James) Hughes; other relatives and friends.

“Those with the power of giving and most deserving of God’s biggest rewards. Thank you for teaching me everything.”
