Rosa Milliron Obituary

Rosa Lee Milliron was a dear friend, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, loving aunt, and beloved cousin to many. She was born on December 19, 1936. She lived a full, meaningful life rooted in faith, family, and service. Rosa Lee Milliron received her high school diploma at George Washington Carver High School in Douglas, GA. At the early age of eighteen, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was a proud Baptist woman who served faithfully for many years as an usher at Shiloh Baptist Church, greeting every soul who entered with warmth and grace.

Rosa Lee Milliron dedicated twenty-five years of service to Cook’s Cleaners, where she worked diligently as a dry cleaner/presser before her retirement. She was united in holy matrimony to John Author Nixon, and their union was blessed with five beautiful children. She is survived by Kendall Maurice Nixon and Michael Author Nixon. She was preceded in death by John Author Nixon, Jr., Cathy Doreen Nixon, and Victor Morris Nixon. Rosa Lee Milliron was also preceded in death by her second husband, Johnny L. Milliron.

In her leisure, Rosa Lee enjoyed cooking, watching and playing basketball, dancing, caring for her family members, and serving faithfully in her church and community. She lived with purpose, always giving more than she took and offering love without hesitation.

Rosa Lee Milliron leaves to cherish her memory: her special friend, Harry Drayton; mother, Corine Barlow Burnette; brothers, William Burnette, Jr., and Thomas Lee Burnette; sisters, Mary Elizabeth Burnette and Lettie Watson; along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved her deeply.

She was confident, strong, emotionally intelligent, family-oriented, and forgiving—an example of grace under pressure. She reminded her loved ones that “God always has a ram in the bush,” and believed that “if you keep your mind strong, you will be alright.”

Rosa Lee Milliron lived a life of faith, resilience, and compassion. Her legacy will continue to shine through every life she touched.
