Rose Allen Obituary

As you celebrate my homegoing, I pray that each of you will remember that I fought so hard to remain with each of you. I have finished my earthly course of life. My departure was all a part of God’s plan for me, so keep the faith.  In my absence, remember that my spirit lives on. If you want to keep my memory alive remember that love knows no boundaries. All I ever wanted to do was to show everybody the value of loving each other. As a family remember the importance of showing each other agape love through fellowshipping with each other.

Rose Marie Miles Allen was born on April 1, 1949, to Orabell Wilcox Miles and John Henry Miles in Wheeler County, Georgia.  She received her formal education at Risley High School in Brunswick, GA. She furthered her education in Home Health Care in Newark, NJ and later became a health care provider. Rose Marie Miles Allen accepted Christ as her Savior at St. Paul Baptist Church in Wheeler County, Georgia.  Later in life, she joined Abyssinia Baptist Church where she continued her spiritual journey in Brunswick, GA, serving as a Junior Sunday School teacher, Junior Usher Board, sang in the Abyssinia Baptist Church Choir, and Sunday School Secretary.

Rose Marie Miles was united in holy matrimony with Earl Allen in 1967. In her leisure, she enjoyed fishing, crabbing, eating seafood, and enjoyed time with family and friends. She was employed as a private healthcare provider for 20 years.

Rose Marie Miles Allen departed this life on January 4, 2025. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ora Bell Wilcox-Miles; father, John Henry Miles; sisters, Catherine Miles and Anita Miles; brothers, Reese Miles, James Henry Miles and Charles Miles.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her son, Joshua Leggett; sisters, Vinell Nelson and Lucindy Miles; brothers, Gerald Miles, Joel Miles, David Miles and Demetruis Miles, a host of nieces, nephews, church family, extended family and close friends. A special friend, Laurence Everette.
