Rose Jefferson Obituary

Rose Mary Jefferson was born in Helena, Arkansas, on January 8, 1961, to Percy Lee Jefferson, Sr., and Pauline Jefferson, who entered into heavenly rest before her. Rose was one of five children, her sisters, Doris Britton and Shirley Jean Morse, and her brother, Percy Lee Jefferson, Jr., are holding out their heavenly arms to embrace their sister’s arrival. In 1963, her parents relocated to Los Angeles, California, where she grew up and attended school. Rose graduated from Crenshaw High School and continued her higher education by earning her Bachelor of Science, in Business Administration from California State University of Dominguez Hills and also earning her Multi-Subject Clear/Clad Teaching Credential from Cal State Dominguez Hills. Rose did not stop there and continued at California State University Long Beach, earning her Master of Arts in Education and graduating Summa Cum Laude. She also received her credential from Cal State Long Beach in Reading Specialist. Rose loved to teach and loved being a teacher to young children. Rose taught in Long Beach and Los Angeles, California. Rose relocated to Brunswick, Georgia, to be with her mother and there resumed her teaching career. Rose was giving and supportive to all who needed her, and she never turned anyone away. Rose encouraged many,
her family, friends, and students, to be the best that they could be, and she was willing to help them achieve that.

A Christ-Centered Life:

Rose began her walk with Christ as a child and was a dedicated member of the Home Assembly Apostolic Church, where she was baptized in the Holy Spirit. Rose never missed an opportunity to speak on the goodness of God; she never missed an opportunity to testify on the goodness of his love. Upon relocating to Brunswick, Georgia, she joined Community Church, Brunswick Campus, to continue being a disciple of Christ. Rose’s commitment to Christ, along with her desire and dedication to lead others to Christ, made her a very special and unique individual.

In Loving Memory:

Rose went to be with the Lord on June 13, 2025. Her family, friends, students, associates, and co-workers will cherish her memory and the joy and happiness she brought into their lives. Her sudden illness and death have left us heartbroken, but there is comfort in knowing there’s no doubt she is resting in the arms of the Lord. She will be lovingly remembered by her loving sister, Debra Ann Jefferson; two aunts, Pearline McLeod of California and Earnestine Jefferson-Albert of Nebraska; nieces, Lisa, Thyice, Keshia, Krystal, Jennifer, Kimberly, and Alexus; all her cousins near and far, to include but are not limited to, Marlene, Caren, Anthony, Brenda, James, Eddie, and William Jr.; all her great-nieces and great-nephews near and far, to include but are not limited to, Mia, Amore, Tymon, Darius, Jerome, Jamaal, Ja’marcus, and Tyese.

Rose will be missed greatly but never forgotten. Her smile and her laugh will be a lasting remembrance to us all. She is greatly loved, and we are grateful and thankful to the Lord for sharing her with us.
