“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all of them also that love his appearing.” II Timothy 4: 7-8
Heavenly Father, we understand that your will must be done. We refuse to be ungrateful and selfish for all the joy that our loved one brought into our lives. As a family, we are thankful for the happiness we’ve known and forever grateful for her seventy-one years on earth. Ruth Buggs was born on April 21, 1953, to Catherine Mannings and Clinton Stephens in Brunswick, Georgia. Ruth Buggs received her formal education in the Glynn County school system in Brunswick, Georgia.
Family has always been extremely important to Ruth. She demonstrated her love to her family and wanted to make sure that they knew how much she valued their relationship. She enjoyed spending time with family and drinking her Diet Cokes.
On May 22, 2024, God took a walk in his garden of life and decided He would pluck one of His most beautiful flowers – “Sister Ruth Buggs”. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Alexus Y. Scott.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her children, Thaddius Leroy Buggs, Jr., Cynthia (Juan) Calhoun, and James (Shatique) Moore; grandchildren, Marquita (Trevaris) Hamilton, Thaddius Leroy Buggs, III, Shamario Foster, Christopher Carswell, Daishaun Davis, Shawniqua Harper, James (Pryshaya) Moore, Jr., Alisa Buggs, Samara Moore, Asheli Buggs, Tamara Moore, and Temperence Buggs; thirteen great-grandchildren; three sisters, Earline Desameau, Naomi Drayton, and Catherine Melvin; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Due to the current state of (the COVID-19) pandemic and in order to promote social distancing, anyone entering the funeral home for viewing will be asked to wear a mask. We will also limit the number of persons allowed to enter the funeral home or any other facility at any given period during the viewing process. We ask that you leave the premise upon exiting the building. The family is most appreciative of each of you for all acts of kindness shown to them during this difficult time in their lives.
