Down through the years the Lord been good to me… Salonzo was born on March 26, 1979, to Betty Banks Roberson and Ricky Mathis. He was a member of Johnson Temple as a child. He later became a member of Living by Faith World Ministry. Salonzo was very devoted to his family and friends. Some knew him as “Donta.” He was also known as “Adonis Slim” and “Loverboy.”
Salonzo loved singing and playing Old School Jams and Old Time Gospel. He loved barbecuing, but most of all, he loved the Lord. Salonzo was preceded in death by his grandparents, Betty Lockhart of Statenville, GA, and John H. Banks of Mayday, GA, and Minnie Mae and Lorenzo (Buddy) Mathis, of Brunswick, GA; grandfather, Mr. Buddy Mathis, whom he admired and adored; and aunt, Catherine Everlsy of Statenville, GA.
Salonzo leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Betty Banks Roberson (Michael) of Brunswick, GA; father, Ricky Mathis; extended dad, Willie Jackson; sister, Tocarro J. Cowart of Waycross, GA; brother, Brodowick Jackson of Los Angeles, CA; aunts, Marsha Banks of Waycross, GA, (Liz) Sarah Fairley of Brunswick, GA, Alfreda Mathis White of Atlanta, GA, and Janet (Melvin) Anderson of VA; uncles, Ellis Miller of Brunswick, GA, John (Cheryl) Banks of Brunswick, GA, and Leon (Gwendolyn) Johnson of Cadwell, GA; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
