My life on earth was brief but don’t prolong it with undue grief. My life was beautiful; for as long as it lasted, but the journey of my life has come to an end after thirty-two years. Somethings in life are impossible for mankind to fully understand. Our time on earth is just one of those questions that mankind will never be able to understand. No matter how long God has entrusted our loved ones here on earth, their sudden departure is hard to understand. As a family our hearts are heavy, so we must depend on God Almighty for our strength, accept God’s decision, and abide by his holy words.
Samuel Lafa Edwards was born on August 3, 1991, to Vanessa Edwards and Andre Clay. He was educated in the Glynn County public school system and attended Brunswick High School in Brunswick, GA. He furthered his education in Virginia and later became a landscaper. Samuel Edwards accepted Christ as his Savior on August 3, 2004, at the age of thirteen and was united with Greater Hall Temple where he served as an usher. Samuel was blessed with a daughter, Destiny Dior Edwards. In his leisure, he enjoyed playing cards, cleaning cars, and landscaping. God’s plans are not always our plans. When the angels came for him on March 4, 2024, which was much sooner than we planned, we’ll brave the grief that comes and try to understand.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Samuel L. Edwards and aunt, Joan L. Cummings.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his daughter, Destiny Edwards; mother, Vanessa Edwards; father, Andre Clay; sisters, Shamel Edwards and Deangela Clay; brothers, Rickey Patterson, Andre Clay II, and Deandre Clay; daughter’s mother, Daija Williams; grandmother, Linda Lougue; and a host of other relatives and friends.
