Sanford Lorenzo Hampton

Deacon Sanford Lorenzo Hampton, Jr., was born on August 17, 1956, to Margaret Williams Hampton and Sanford Lorenzo Hampton, Sr. Deacon Sanford Lorenzo Hampton, Jr., received his formal education at Brunswick High in Brunswick, Georgia. He furthered his education at Florida A&M University, Jacksonville University, and Massey Business College. Deacon Sanford Lorenzo Hampton, Jr., accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age and was united with Saint Paul Baptist in Brunswick, Georgia. He later became a member of Fishersof Men World Harvest Christian Church, under the leadership of Bishop Dr. Alfred Jackson who ordained him as a Deacon.

He also served on the Willing Workers Ministry, Pastor’s Aid Ministry, and Male Choir Ministry. He also united with Full Gospel Baptist Church, under the leadership of Bishop Paul
Morton, and New Birth Missionary Baptist Church where he trained under the leadership of Bishop Eddie Long.

Sanford Lorenzo Hampton, Jr., was united in holy matrimony with Marian Lynette Williams. Their union was blessed with Sanford Lorenzo Hampton III, April Dawn Clark Scruggs, Leroy Keith, Jr., and Aaron Lavorn Culver. In his leisure, he enjoyed cooking, singing, and serving at Christ Church of St. Simons Island, Georgia. His favorite song was “Somewhere Around the Throne” by The Mighty Cloudsof Joy, and his favorite saying was “Marian feed the people.”

He was employed by Winn-Dixie, Christ Church of St. Simons Island, Marsh’s Edge Community, and he retired from Sea Island. He was also the owner of Hampton Seafood.
Deacon Sanford Lorenzo Hampton, Jr., departed this life on February 13, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret Williams Hampton and Sanford Lorenzo Hampton,
Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Marian Hampton; three sons, Leroy Keith, Jr., Aaron Lavorn Culver, and Sanford Lorenzo Hampton III; daughter, April Dawn Clark Scruggs;
and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and grieving friends.

Due to the current state of (COVID-19) pandemic and in order to promote social distancing, anyone entering the funeral home for viewing; as well as attending all graveside or funeral services, either inside or outside, must wear a mask. We will also limit the number of persons allowed to enter the funeral home or any other facility at any given period during the viewing process.  We ask that you leave the premise upon exiting the building. The family is most appreciative of each of you for all acts of kindness shown to them during this difficult time in their lives.
