Sarah Jane Williams

My life has been meaningful and blessed, and I’m grateful for every moment God allowed me to experience. My journey on this side has come to its close, but I leave with a full heart. I embraced every adventure that came my way, so I carry no regrets. Now, I am simply going ahead to the place of rest where those I love who le before me are already waiting. To my family and all whom I love, I pray that the love I poured into you will hold you together and ease the ache in your hearts. My time here may seem short, but some things in life are beyond human understanding. Trust God’s plan, even when it hurts. His will is perfect, and He never makes mistakes.

Everything God creates has purpose, and every life begins with a destiny already ordained by His hands. On December 9, 1949, a gentle fall day in Hampton County, South Carolina, God blessed the late Willie Wright and the late Janie Gregley Wright with an energetic and extraordinary daughter whom they named Sarah Jane. Sarah’s educational journey began in the public schools of Hampton County, where she attended Estill Training Schools, a foundation that proved to be both meaningful and transformative in shaping her character and her future.

Proverbs 18:22 teaches that “he who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord,” reminding us that marriage is both a blessing and a divine gift. For 58 beautiful years, Sarah was joined in holy matrimony to Marion Lee Williams, a union built on faith, devotion, and unwavering love.  Their marriage was a testament to God’s favor, and through it they were blessed with six children: two sons and four daughters.

In the early 1970s, Sarah Jane received the precious gift of the Holy Ghost. She was a woman of great faith who believed deeply in the power of prayer, interceding for her family, her church, and countless others. She had a special love for the household of faith and found joy in praising and worshipping the Lord in the beauty of holiness. Her steadfast devotion, radiant spirit, and unwavering commitment to God made her an inspiration to many. Sarah was a devoted member of Miller Temple Pentecostal Church for many years under the leadership of the late Bishop Johnnie Miller, where she faithfully served as a church mother, choir member, and a willing vessel always ready to win souls to Christ. Later, she became a member of Bright and Morning Star Holiness Church under the leadership of Bishop Calvin Hamilton, where she continued to serve faithfully until the Lord called her into eternal rest.

Beyond her ministry, Sarah found joy in the simple and meaningful pleasures of life. She loved cooking, gardening, shopping, and above all, serving the Lord with gladness. Everything she did reflected her generous heart, her nurturing spirit, and her unwavering devotion to God.

We are sorrowful because we will miss her beautiful smile and gentle kindness. On May 8, 2026, God, in His wise providence, saw fit to call Sarah Jane home to rest with Him. As she departed this life, she was preceded in death by her loving parents; son, Marion Williams, Jr.; and brothers, John Edward Wright, Willie Wright, Jr., Robert Lee Wright and Henry Lee Wright.
She leaves to cherish her everlasting memories: a loving and devoted family, which includes a wonderful husband of 58 years, Marion Lee Williams of Estill, SC; son, Dea. Everette Williams (Evangelist Dorine) of Estill, SC; daughters, Missionary Lela Brown of Estill, SC, Teacher Gloria Williams of Furman, SC, Evangelist Myra Jefferson (Donald) of Phenix City, AL, and Prophetess Denise Holmes (Timothy) of Furman, SC; daughter-in-law, Rachel Williams of Estill, SC; grandson, Devonte Denzel Williams, reared in the home; 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pastor Claretha Housey and Hattie Anderson (Elder Charles), both of Estill, SC; sisters-in-law, Johnny Mae Wright of Ridgeland, SC, Lillian Wright, Johnny Mae Curry (Porter), Mae Singleton (Alexander) and Vermel Morris, all of Estill, SC; brothers-in-law, MacArther Williams (Andrea) of Furman, SC, Robert Green of Savannah, GA, Isaac Isham (Hazel), Robert Isham (Angie), all of Estill, SC, Eddie Isham (Blondell) of Allendale, SC, and Joe Lewis Mitchell; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She had a special love for Veronica Housie.
