“We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” II Corinthians 5:8
Life has a joyful beginning, but sometimes it can be a painful ending for those loved ones we leave behind. I don’t want my exit from this life to be painful for any of my family and friends. Although, my life appears to be brief, I’ve lived an exciting and full life. We’ve shared many memories, countless hours of laughter, and so much love. When you start to miss me, keep all the memories that we shared and use them to comfort the pain.
To my family and friends, remember the joy that I brought to this world on August 18, 1969. What an amazing talented bundle of joy God gave my parents, Viola Pinckney Cromartie and John Cromartie in Bronx, New York.
STEFAN graduated from Estill High School and was employed by the former Elliott Sawmill for over eighteen years as a diesel mechanic and for Canfor Southern Pines.
Stefan was united in holy matrimony with Janice Fort in Bronx, New York, on January 8, 1995. This union was blessed with four children: Fantasia, Fayvia, Francine, and Stefan Cromartie; as well as two bonus children, Fatima and Felicia Fort.
Stefan was blessed with many talents. His greatest gift was his mechanical skills. He loved watching sports. His favorite football team was the Kansas City Chiefs. He loved all of his New York teams, but the New York Yankees baseball team was his favorite.
He departed this life on December 28, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Janice Fort Cromartie; children, Fantasia, Fayvia, Francine, and Stefan Cromartie; two bonus children, Fatima and Felicia Fort; four grandchildren; sister, Shawntrel (Zeke) Hopkins; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
