Tearyns Baker Obituary

Today, we gather in the spirit of thanksgiving to celebrate the life and legacy of Tearyns Tyrone Baker. Don’t think of Tearyns as gone away, because his journey has just begun. Life holds many facets, and Earth is only one. Just think of Tearyns as resting free from pain. He has gone to a place where there are no days and years. Nothing loved is ever lost, and he was loved so much. Tearyns accepted Christ at an early age, joined Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, and later attended More Than Conquerors Church. He graduated from Camden County High School with the Class of 1991, where he played football and wrestling. In 1992, he started his career as a police officer in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He continued his career with HJ Russell as a Maintenance Supervisor in Atlanta, Georgia, and Styles Property.

In his leisure time, he enjoyed coaching his grandsons’ Little League football, basketball, and track teams. He was their biggest fan and a true Papa. Tearyns’ favorite sports teams were the San Francisco 49ers and the Florida State Seminoles. He was a “people person,” and he never met someone he was not friendly with. His favorite saying was, “Sure you’re right.” He was always caring and concerned about his family.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Susie M. Walker; brother, Gerald Williams, and father, Larry (Barbara) Mack.

His memories will forever be cherished by his wife of twenty-two years, Sharon Baker; two daughters, Sharmaine Washington and Shamya Myers Baker, both of McDonough, GA; mother, Reatha (Johnny) Thompson, Waverly, GA; brothers, Michael (Jessica) Baker of Grand Rapids, MI, Tony (Tasha) Mack, and Gregory Short, both of Brunswick, GA; sisters, Shanda (Alphonso) Hunt, Stephanie Mack, Candace Mack, and Shameeka Mack, all of Brunswick, GA; three grandsons, Jaiden, Ja’Korey, and Jayce Hall, all of McDonough, GA; two sisters in-law, Tulisha Pate of Atlanta, GA, and Renee (Jay) Richardson of Augusta, GA; and a large host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
