Tommy Taylor Obituary

One does not depart this world in the same way that one enters. It is important to live life to the fullest because we don’t know the time or date of departure. The body
given to us at our time of entrance was never designed to last forever. The season of life for Tommy James Taylor began on September 17, 1949, when God gave the late
James Taylor and the late Inez Leggett Griffin a beautiful bundle of joy in Tifton, Georgia.

Tommy’s education started in the public schools of Tifton, Georgia, and continued after moving to Glynn County in the 1960s. Tommy lived a full life, and he enjoyed himself tremendously. He was truly a handyman of various jobs. He especially loved working on cars. Tommy was a people’s person with a charming personality that attracted many friends and neighbors.

God has a plan for everyone. Death is only the beginning of our new season to our eternal life. After fulfilling all that God had promised for this lifetime here, Tommy departed this life on July 5, 2022. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Weaver Taylor; his parents, James Taylor and Inez Leggett Griffin; his maternal grandparents; a son, Frederick “Big Rick” Taylor;
brother, Alex “El” Towns; and grandson, D’Marc Taylor.

He leaves to cherish his memories: a blended family of six daughters, Deborah (Alfred) Harding of Killeen, Texas, Gwendolyn Weaver, Rachel Weaver Hill, Sherry Weaver, Jacqueline Weaver, all of Brunswick, Georgia, and Diane Taylor of Connecticut; four sons, David (Kelly) Taylor, Michael Fairley, both of Brunswick, Georgia, Derrell Robinson of Savannah, Georgia, and Marc Taylor of Connecticut; five siblings, Johnny (Gloria) Leggett, Gloria Howard, Robert (Connie) Towns, Alonzo Griffin, and Cynthia (Andre) Taylor; a host of grandchildren and
great-grandchildren whom he loved dearly, and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
