Tommye Mobley Obituary

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” Psalm 23:4

A page has been turned, the chapter of my life is now completed. A victory has been won, a life’s book closed, and it was all part of God plans for me. Family and friends, please accept the will of God, because a loving and awesome God knows what best for each of us. I want each of my family members and friends to begin your journey of healing by remembering the joy that we shared through pictures, mementos, and favorite stories both funny and sad. Let your mind wonder through the path of remembrance, reliving the joy and good times we had.

Tommye Donell Jonquin Mobley was born on April 3, 1979, to LaTanya R. Abbott and Ricky D. Mobley of New Jersey, in Brunswick, GA. Tommye received his formal education in Glynn County School System in Brunswick, Georgia. Tommye accepted Christ as his Savior at New Covenant Church at an early age.

In his leisure, he enjoyed playing basketball, gardening, and spending time with family. He was employed by Sonny’s BBQ. Tommye Donell Jonquin Mobley departed this life on February 14, 2025. He was preceded in death by his father, Ricky Mobley; grandparents, William and Tommie Abbott, and Horace and Earlee Mobley; uncle, William Abbott, Jr.; and brother, Derek Coleman, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, LaTanya Abbott Austin; sisters, Kyetta Mobley, Mayana (Carlos) McIntyre, Christin (Legitime) Bourjolly, Aliece Cary, and Autumn Turner; brother, Ricky Mobley; aunts, Tammye Abbott of VA, Tonye Anderson of GA, Tracy Abbott (Richard) Sullivan of GA, and Sandra Mobley Grant of GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
