Considering the sorrow in our hearts, it is with humble submission and reverence that we accept the will of God. God lent Vanessa to this world only for a little while. God never wanted, His beloved Vanessa, to live in fear, uncertainty, or confusion. Through her death, he offered her a glorious and joy-filled destination, a future free of pain, sorrow and sickness.
Vanessa Lakay Brooks Parker was born on November 16, 1957, to the union of the late Katherine Jones and the late Joshua Brooks in Gainesville, Florida. Vanessa received her formal education in the Alachua County Public Schools in Gainesville, Florida.
In her leisure time she enjoyed having a good laugh with family and playing cards. She had a contagious smile and a strong-willed personality.
Vanessa departed this life on July 7, 2021, Southeast Georgia Health System, Brunswick, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Deresa Elkins, and sister, Marcella Jones.
He leaves to cherish his memories: husband, Lee Parker; children, Devegas Williams, Veronica Williams, and Lee Ann Parker; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brothers, Theodore (Doretha) Jones, Jr., and Charlie Jones; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
