Wanda Yvette Green

Wanda Yvette Green was born on July 7, 1968, to Tobe and Earnestine Green on St. Simons Island, Georgia. Wanda received her formal education in the Glynn County school system. She furthered her education at the former Brunswick Junior College in Brunswick, Georgia, and received her certification as a Nurse’s Aide. Wanda accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and was united with Zion Rock Missionary Baptist Church. She worked for many years as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She recently affiliated with Marsh’s Edge as a Dietary Assistant.

Being a mother was one of the most important parts of Wanda’s life, a role that gave her much pride and joy. She was a fiercely dedicated mom and her greatest accomplishment in life was raising Kiara to be a God-fearing, independent woman. Kiara was “the apple of her eye.” Wanda was also a woman of strong faith and often pointed Kiara, siblings, and friends to the Bible for direction. Wanda enjoyed talking with her sisters, and she enjoyed shopping outings with them. In addition to her family, Wanda will be missed by her cat, “Gidget,” and her fur grandpups, “Malibu” and “Canela,” who brought great joy into her life. She also enjoyed gardening and reading, especially the Bible.

Wanda Yvette Green departed this life on November 23, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tobe and Earnestine Green; brother, Sheldon Green; and sister, Stacy Green.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her loving daughter & son-in-law, Mario Herrera; spouse, Patrick Woods; siblings, Eva (James) Herring, Tobe (Felecia) Green, Debra (Clifford) Partridge), Larry Green, Sr., Ronnie Green, Sr., Eddie Green, Sr., Karen Green, Sharon Green, and Tonya Green; aunts and uncles, Alma Green, Pearl Butts, Dora (Ben) Johnson, Ozzie Lewis, Mary Henderson, and Loretta Kelly; mother-in-law, Sallie Woods; devoted friend, Sabrina Slay Alvin; feline companion, Gidget; fur grandpups, Malibu and Canela; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
